Today on Riley's Random Rambles: flintlocks (and swords)! Specifically a 19th century Ottoman knee-pistol that we've got here!

I'm hoping to clean it (and the swords!!) up soon with some Renaissance de-corroder and Renaissance wax, which will remove the rust and protect them from further corrosion, respectively!

Let me know if you'd like a little series on the restoration, because I'm happy to yap about that, too!

Have you ever seen a dabbous? Well, now you have! It's such a unique instrument, it took me hours to figure out what it was when we first got it in our shop! It's pretty heavy, too- you wouldn't think something like this would weigh 5+ pounds, but it's a real hefty skewer.
