Join death doula and grief worker, at Underdog Bookstore on the last Sunday of each month from 12:00-1:30pm.

This is a free, all ages event where you can be held in community and hold others through our collective grief and individual grief.

This supportive space is open to anyone navigating any type of loss—whether it’s the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a life transition, or any grief that feels too heavy to carry alone.

Come as you are to share, connect, and find healing in community.

Need manuscript feedback? Come to Between Drafts Story Lab! 📝

How does it work? Writers will bring in up to 1,500 words of their work for feedback. Each writer will receive a 30 minute slot that includes a reading, silent reflection, open discussion, and response time.

There are four submission slots available, with others welcome to critique, provide feedback, and enjoy the creative talents of our local writing community.

Join a new group penpal project meeting once a month to write letters to incarcerated LGBTQ+ people 💌

is an abolitionist organization bringing together q***r and trans people on both sides of prison walls in the fight against hierarchies and State oppression.

For incarcerated trans and q***r people, penpal correspondence is often the only connection they have to people on the outside. LGBTQ+ people also face increased isolation within prisons—such as being placed in solitary confinement “for their own protection.” This makes having outside support such as these penpods all the more important.

Celebrate the creative talents of our local community at Underdog's Open Mic Night!

All are welcome for poetry, storytelling, music and more. Suggested donation $5-20 or donate a gently used book by an LGBTQIA+, BIPOC or Disabled author.

We are also currently accepting donations for this year's trick-or-treat event, including children's books, snacks, and small toys/gift items 🎃

Thank you to everyone who joined us during Banned Books Week to protect the freedom to read! 📚

Together we wrote over 100 postcards to our local reps asking them to vote no against federal book banning bills, celebrated the stories they don’t want us to read, and spread awareness about book banning to even the youngest readers and storytime listeners.
