Our famous 10 bucks a bag sale will be held ALL Day Sunday May 18th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Empty paper grocery bags are available for purchase before entry to the 10 buck a bag sale. Please line up outside the library community room startimg at 9:30 am.

Friends of the Monrovia Public Library Bookmark Contest

The Friends of the Monrovia Public Library is hosting their annual bookmark contest! All ages are invited to participate (children, teens & adults) in the Annual Friends Bookmark Contest, with all submissions due by Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Get creative and share your love of books, reading, the library, and your community by designing a unique piece of art for the contest.

As you may know, I am the President of the Friends of the Monrovia Public Library located in Monrovia California.

The Friends raise money for the Library programs, such as the Children and Adult Summer Reading Clubs, Literacy Programs, Free Movie nights as well as providing money for new books, movies and music for the Library’s collection.

We also donate books to the troops and to organizations that request book donations.

The Friends raise money through monetary donations, annual membership dues and sales through the Friends Book Store (located inside the Monrovia Public Library) and at the annual Spring Book Sale which consists of books, music and movies donated to the library.

Our Annual Spring Book Sale will be Friday May 19th - 21st in the library.

This is our big book sale where we sell thousands of paper back and hardcover books, as well as music and movies.

Children’s books start at. 25 cents, paperbacks are .50 cents and hard covers and trade paperback books are $2.00.

We are also holding our annual Membership drive and we are asking for your support.

Individual memberships are 15.00, family memberships are 25.00, Patron is 50.00, Business 150.00 and one time Life Membership is 200.00.

Please consider becoming a member of the Friends, or attend the Spring Book Sale Friday May 19th - Sunday May 21st.

On behalf of the Friends of the Monrovia Public Library, I presented the winners of the Monrovia Public Library’s 2022 Summer Reading Club Bookmark Contest to the Monrovia City Council tonight.

Winning bookmarks are available for free in the Library and Friends of the Monrovia Public Library Book Store.

Congratulations to all 10 winners!
