We have a veerrrryyy exciting announcement for International Cat Day! 😸✨

Next Saturday, August 15, we’re hosting a special story time with Pasadena Humane, who will be at Black Cat with adoptable kittens! 🐈🐈‍⬛💕

Story time will begin after everyone settles in around 10am, and Pasadena Humane will remain at Black Cat until around 1pm with adoptable kitties. It’s currently kitten season so PH will most likely only bring kittens to the event. Come for story time or come later to meet the kitties! Story time is an all ages event 🐱💖

Join us and local author Erik Patterson for a writing workshop at Black Cat! This will be an interactive workshop for writers of all experience levels who are interested in exploring the dystopian genre. All participants will receive a copy of Erik’s book, “Write a Dystopian Novel”, and a drink from our café!

If you’ve been inspired by The Hunger Games or Dungeon Crawler Carl to dip your toe in the dystopian pool, this is the perfect workshop for you. Erik makes it fun and easy to get your ideas onto paper (or screen)! Make sure to bring writing implements with you 📝💻

Highlights include: a wonderful signing event with local author Diana Giovinazzo, a doing-my-best story time while Story Time Lady was away, a tranquil and healing sound bath with the lovely Danielle | Intuitive Guide & Healer, an adorable air plant workshop, and our Drink N’ Doodle artists made some amazing new logos for us.

August events are here! ✨

Let’s start with the most important event: KITTEN ADOPTION 🐈‍⬛🐈 Pasadena Humane will bring adoptable kittens to our very special story time on Saturday, August 15! 😻

We’re also offering a brand new program: Sip N’ Scrap! A coffee and junk journaling club that will take place the second Saturday of each month. A drink purchase is all that’s required for you to scrap and chat to your heart’s content! ☕️💖

We’re also partnering with a couple new local vendors for some fun and creative workshops! Jennifer De Zilva will host a bookish charm bar on Saturday, August 22 and Amanda Edwards will teach hand-sewing on Wednesday, August 26 💫🪡

There’s also poetry, a writer’s workshop, tarot, and our regular monthly clubs! See details and sign up for all these events on our website! Link in bio 💜🐈‍⬛
