As of right now we are running the derby and will not be rescheduling. Some of the many forecasts are showing that it might be sporty conditions with sustained wind 7-12kts gust up to 25 by end of derby. Other forecasts are showing much calmer winds of 5-10kts gusts to 15.
I wanted everyone to be aware that conditions change constantly and there is always a possibility of having to cancel or limit the day of the event if it is unsafe weather conditions. If that is the decision we will hold the raffle for those that show up.
We take safety seriously and will have 3 safety motor boats and other safety kayakers on the water that day regardless of conditions.
I wanted you to be aware in case you need to cancel your hotel reservation if you were feeling uncomfortable. Regardless of the outcome the raffle and potluck will still happen.
If you are coming out don't forget to fill out the digital waiver and read over the rules carefully.
