This Patriot Day, September 11, the North Fremont Business District joins communities across our nation in remembering those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and honoring the courage of the first responders, members of our military and everyday citizens who stepped forward to help others. We also recognize the strength, compassion and unity Americans showed in the days that followed. Beautiful hiking weather this weekend! Before you head out for a day of exploring, stop by 3 Mundos Sandwich Shop on North Fremont and grab a delicious sandwich to take along. Then head for the hills and enjoy one of our beautiful local hiking trails, or make your way to the sandy beaches for a relaxing picnic by the Bay. Come see all of the adorable 4-H animals at the Monterey County Fair, happening right next to North Fremont! We especially love visiting the goats — they’re cute, curious and fun to watch, but did you know they’re also excellent natural brush clearers? Goats are often used to graze on weeds, grasses and other vegetation to help reduce potential fire fuel in fire-prone areas. Stop by the livestock area, support our hardworking local 4-H youth and say hello to the goats and all their furry and feathered friends! 🐐🐑🐓🐇
