๐ป๐ก THIS is my biggest award and proudest moment from the fair!
Working with the Girl Scouts, we entered 26 arrangements! My mom, aunt, sister and I gathered buckets and buckets of flowers and containers, and met the girls for their first meeting of the year. We taught them the "dos and don'ts" of arranging and assisted them with making their pieces.
The first piece had to be an arrangement using multi-colored flowers in a mason jar. It was called "Coat of Many Colors." Paying tribute to Dolly, we added a little coat to each jar. ๐ฉท
The second piece you had to use flowers of 2 colors in a container of their choice. This is where we brought in some fun vases, a few were my great-aunt, Dorothy's, that I'm sure Kelsey and I used for the fair years ago.
They proudly walked to the gym and entered their arrangements with hopes of winning a blue ribbon. The flower department loved them all so much, they all got a blue ribbon!๐ Thank you to Caroline Smith for adding this category for beginners to compete in. We all have to start somewhere. This is where I started, and I hope many will continue doing this through the years. Let flower love live on!
