Have you tried growing Pugster butterfly bushes yet?

This is a signature series by Proven Winners that’s a unique type of dwarf butterfly bush with large, full-size flower spikes.

Just like traditional butterfly bushes, these have a strong, sweet fragrance that butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds love. The foliage is deer resistant.

They typically only grow about 2 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide. They thrive in full sun and need well-draining soil. Unlike older dwarf varieties, they have thick, woody branches that do not flop over under the weight of the large flowers. They bloom continuously from early summer through the first frost without needing to be deadheaded.

We have Pugster Blue, Pugster Pinker, and Pugster Sorbet.

Fun and unique Father’s Day idea! Help dad grow his own hops!

Hops are the flowers (also called seed cones) of the perennial, climbing hop plant, and they are used primarily as a bittering, flavoring, and stability agent in beer. Hops are also used for various purposes in other beverages and herbal medicine.

A few growing tips:

🍺They need a sunny, well-draining location with strong vertical support.
🍺Hops grow rapidly—up to 20+ feet tall—and require deep watering and rich soil.
🍺The first year focuses on root establishment, with a full harvest ready by year two or three.
🍺Hops need a lot of water, especially during the hot summer months.
🍺Cones are usually ready to harvest in late summer or early fall. Check for dryness to see if they are ready. The cones should feel papery and emit a strong, aromatic scent.

Native hardy hibiscus, also known as rose mallow or swamp mallow, is a cold-hardy, herbaceous perennial. It’s blooming now, and it’s very impressive!

◾Dinner-plate-sized blooms ranging in color from white and pink to deep red.
◾It dies back completely in winter and emerges late in spring.
◾Full sun to partial shade. (Full sun gives you the strongest stems and most prolific blooms.)
◾Prefers moist, rich soil, but it can adapt to average, well-draining garden soil as long as it is watered consistently.
◾Great for pollinator gardens since the huge blooms attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees.

Our 1-gallon pots are $14.95.
