Let’s see what our staff has selected for you! 📚 Staff Recommendation Series: Let’s hear from Courtney Pinkard, Reference Coordinator, who suggests Alabama v. King.
“I recommend Alabama v. King: Martin Luther King Jr. and the Criminal Trial That Launched the Civil Rights Movement by Dan Abrams, David Fisher, and Fred Gray. Besides the courtroom drama, the book goes really in-depth on the planning and ex*****on of the Montgomery Bus Boycott. I especially enjoyed the anecdotes and background information about the various witnesses that testified during the trial. It’s a real insider’s view thanks to Mr. Gray’s first-hand knowledge of the proceedings and the people involved.”
Fred Gray, a Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient and a member of the Archives’ Board of Trustees, offers a unique perspective in this gripping narrative. Learn more about his contributions and explore our Board of Trustees page here: (https://archives.alabama.gov/about/trustees/Gray-Fred.aspx).
