We would really appreciate your support in this project. I can speak directly to the fact that the steps into our building create an obstacle for many of our patrons - not only those that use a walker or cane, but for those that struggle with knee and hip issues. This would make the ten businesses on West Washington more accessible to all.

Love Downtown Monticello? Here's your chance to show it!

We're working on something HUGE that's been waiting for years to happen, but we need your help! The City is pursuing a grant to support proposed improvements to the north side of the 200 block of W. Washington that would make 10 storefronts and the sidewalk more accessible? That's right... TEN! 🤯 It will be our biggest project in a LONG time...
(In other words... it will be improved like the remainder of the square... projects that started over 20 years ago!)

Wow! 🤯 What a night! 🎉 Thank you Monticello MainStreet & The Brown Bag for a fun filled evening - the West Washington Block Party was a huge success!! And thank you, the residents of Monticello, for coming out to support this celebration. Maybe 🤔 this needs to be a regular kind of thing?!

Oh, and yeah, the picture of the empty (and clean) street?  That was taken literally five minutes after the crowd cleared and I am not exaggerating when I say we only found two small napkins that were left behind. Thank you, thank you for being such gracious guests. It is very much appreciated. ❤️

We definitely “have it going on”!
(Thanks Jennifer Johns for creating the post!!) We are so happy to be part of the energy and excitement on West Washington!!

It wasn’t so long ago that West Washington Street had multiple vacant storefronts. Now? They are all occupied because the hardworking people you see in this photo all took a chance on business ownership. Our block is vibrant and today we are celebrating with a block party!

Stop by and see all that we have to offer between 4 and 6pm today. Then stick around as we celebrate 50 Years of Brown Bag!
