Ralph Burnham was a 19th century antiques dealer who specialized in hooked rugs, of which he collected about 3,000. Jessie Turbayne in her book, "Hooked Rugs: History and the continuing tradition," has a chapter on Burnham. In it, she has a plate showing this very fancy ad for the Ralph Burnham company, showing the many women he employed to work on the rugs he sold.
