Hi all, it's me, Rebecca! It may be early for a top 10(ish) of the year, but my time at Bear Pond Books is sadly coming to a close after an incredible 4 years. My husband Ari and I are headed back west in a few weeks!
I have loved every moment of this job - not just the books, but meeting and forging friendships with so many of you. I will miss the conversations, the dogs, and all the joy this place has brought to me. Thank you all, so much.

It was a great evening celebrating local author and long time Vermont journalist Nat Winthrop’s new book, On the Record! Nat, in conversation with Gary Miller, discussed some of the seventeen featured cover stories ranging from in vitro fertilization in the 1970s and the Iranian Revolution to Bernie Sanders and Ben and Jerry. He talked about Vermont’s thriving print media presence and how his career evolved over the decades and with the times. We are so sad to hear of the passing of the legendary Pinky Clark, a true friend to Montpelier for so many years. Pinky was a business owner (Minuteman Press on State St and later Delish) and a strong supporter of the downtown community. He was Montpelier's unofficial mayor and had his hand in everything from running the Brown Bag Series to planting flowers downtown to working events and doing errands for Montpelier Alive. He could be gruff but only on the surface - everyone knew Pinky was a sweetheart and a friend. He was one of a kind! Our thoughts are with Loraine, Kevin and the Clark family.
