Congratulations to Mr. Dave Talley from AIDB Alabama Industries for the Blind on being named the 2025 recipient of the Peter J. Salmon Award! 🎉 During their May 2025 meeting, the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind Board of Trustees voted in favor of a resolution honoring Dave Talley on his achievement!

Employee of the Month - February 2024
Sighted or w/Other Disability – Felton Ray Johnson, Purchasing Technician, Base Supply Center, Moody Air Force Base

He joined our team on April 10, 2017. His daily responsibilities are purchasing for the customers visiting the Base Supply Center. Supporting the United States Military is important to him as he also served in the Army for seven years. We are also thankful for his service to our country. As a veteran, he understands how putting forth excellence in the work we do is important to the Base Supply Center and the soldiers. His desire to want growth for AIB is another reason he has been diligent in completing his job assignments accurately. For an average of two months, he put forth an immense amount of work each day as he was working on a quote for a contract of deployment gear. Concentration of following all guidelines was shown as it was crucial in preparing the quote. In January, we received the approval of the quote in the amount of $461,266.23. Ray, our team appreciates all the hard work you put forth so that we received this contract. Your dedication and commitment just shows one more way we are better together.
