Yesterday we loaded up some candy and drove to Lexington, OK bc we wanted to meet someone who has become a friend. This is Angel. 💛 Krausnick If you’ve been in our candy lives, you’ve probably seen her cheering us on in the comments almost every night. She even makes tanghulu herself and surprised us with some to try. 🍭🍇 So we traded candy for candy… and laughed until our faces hurt taking pics and hugging. Here’s the part Wonka didn’t expect. We didn’t drive down there hoping she’d buy something at all. We wanted to just say thanks in person. 🥹 , we already considered the trip a win. Then later that day… she placed an order anyway. That’s not what we were after. That’s just what community does. We’ve spent years trying to build community around a different business. What I’ve found over the last several months is that community isn’t built through algorithms and boring fake posts about business. 🤷🏻♀️🫣🤣 It’s built through showing up. Through remembering someone’s name. Through sending the text. Through staying five more minutes. Through dropping off dinner. Through mailing a box of candy just because someone crossed your mind. That’s the company Joseph and I want to build. Not just a candy company.🍭 A company that reminds people they’re seen, loved and deserve JOY and a second chance.
