I spoke on this piece several weeks ago. This piece really brought tears to my eyes as we uncovered it on our last trip to Mexico City. I was at a curating meeting and in the bag as we were going through the pieces and bringing them out for me to inspect I saw that brightly colored woven fabric under the coat before it. My heart started racing, and I could barely contain my excitement. I knew what it was. I knew how rare it is, and I knew what it meant to me. I remember this jacket. This jacket was part of my story. This jacket was a part of my history. His jacket was rare back then and it’s rare right now. I remember seeing that jacket on someone when I was in high school and I felt instantly in love with it. I never had the opportunity to buy it back then I would’ve never even known where to buy it. It has never left my mind and I have always prayed to the VINTAGE gods to send it my way one day. That one day had finally come. As it was next in line I quickly pulled it out and laid it in the pile to take home. After settling up and leaving the appointment, I was so giddy and could barely contain how accomplished I felt. It’s pieces like this that keep me searching and keep me digging for the next must have piece. ❤️ I love love love what I get to do ❤️ I did cry when I walked away from the meeting with it tucked tightly under my arm. I got to be that HS girl again ❤️ This piece headed to the Roundtop shop at The Horseshoe for the Fall show ❤️
