Big News! On Thursday, January 9 I finalized the sale of Monrovia Mudworks Pottery Studio & Gallery in Mooresville. After 23 years it is time to make a life change. Michael and I are returning to the St. Louis, Missouri area.
Good News! Mudworks has been purchased by Nick and Hannah Angermeier, a local couple with both a business and an art background and the desire to expand the artistic impact I tried to provide with Mudworks. I will let the new owners share their plans with you, but I assure you – you are going to LOVE IT! There will be more art, more classes, more creativity and more joy.
There is no change to the Mudworks classes schedule to begin in February. The same location, same instructors, and the same creative focus. I you were able to snag a spot in one of the four class offerings – no worries.
Monrovia Mudworks has been a blessing during the last 24 years, bringing special people into my life due to their love of art, creativity and new experiences. I thank you all. I will carry you with me forever.
I urge you to open your arms and hearts to Nick and Hannah; you won’t be disappointed.
Thank you to everyone who supported Monrovia Mudworks over the last 24 years. It’s been a joy and you will be missed.

On April 7 Mudworks is hosting Chee Chee Rodrigues, of Brickyard Ceramic fame, in a one day workshop addressing kiln operation and maintenance.

Kiln Operation and Maintenance Workshop with Chee Chee Rodrigues



Date: Sunday April 7

Time: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Location: Mudworks 51 East High Street, Mooresville, in

Fee: $80



We rely on our equipment to bring our work to completion but how well do we understand it? Are we operating it correctly? Is it properly wired? When there are issues do we know how to fix it? Is our routine inspection looking at the right stuff? Can we diagnose problems by looking at the results?



We are lucky to have a tremendous resource in our back yard with Chee Chee Rodrigues. The workshop agenda is attached.



Chee Chee has agreed to hold a kiln workshop at Mudworks to educate us on the proper set up, use and maintenance of our kiln. She will also show us how to identify problems and make normal repairs and replacements. Finally Chee Chee will address YOUR kiln issues.



Since kiln repair services are difficult to schedule and cost over $80/hour - this is a great opportunity!



I'll have coffee, water and soft drinks available. We will break for lunch about 12:30. Feel free to bring a lunch or visit one of the many fast-food restaurants near Mudworks.

Fill out the form and get it back to me no later than April 1st! Also, let me know right away if you plan to attend, even if you don't have the form ready. I will open this up to non-Mudpuppies if there is room. Our maximum is 15 people.
