We searched high and low for the perfect place to open our antiques and vintage home goods store. After visiting many places we chose beautiful downtown Mora, Minnesota. Mora is a wonderful community, centrally located, and 1 hour from everywhere. It has been an o
n-going open with sorting and prepping inventory, remodeling and repairs. We think you will find our establishment a great place to leave the rest of the world behind and enjoy browsing through the past. Joan and Marian’s was named after our mothers, both born in the mid-west in 1924. They instilled in us the appreciation of the fine craftsmanship and quality of their family possessions. They cherished items and gifts that were passed down from one generation to the next. Some treasures even sailed from the distant lands of Europe along with their families on their immigration to America. Every object told a story that evoked smiles and brought back memories of different times. These objects, some big, some small, some primitive, and some refined were brought into our homes where they became cherished and loved by us along with the shared stories of their owners and their journeys. We hope you’ll find something special in Joan and Marian’s that you will be able to take home, share with the people you love and add to the story that started when that unknown craftsman put tools to their medium and started the tale that has been passed from generation to generation.
