Funday Monday!! I hope that everyone had a great Halloween weekend because it is time for block 10. I love all of the projects that I do with the Woolie Friends but I do have to say this was probably my favorite of all time. I can't get enough pumpkins!! We are 3 blocks away from finishing our Blackbird’s Bounty Mystery Stitch a Long! I hope everyone has enjoyed it as much as we have! It will become a gorgeous fall quilt when finished!
The quilt will finish at 56” x 71”. It is finished in flannels and wool appliqués. The small pumpkin blocks for the cornerstones will be pieced in flannel also. Using variegated green WonderFil thread, we will add all the vines with wool red berries and leaves to accent our blocks.
You can Pre-order your finishing kit now for $54.00 for the kit only. $59.00 for the kit with pattern. The coordinating thread thread pack (which will include 2 balls of Varigated for the vine sashing) is only $22.50.
You can order a Big Bundle which will include the Kit, full color pattern, and thread pack to finish your quilt for only $78.00 (plus shipping).
Finishing Pattern will not be available until the week of November 23rd!

It’s Reveal Day!

I’m so excited to finally share Gathered Treasures, Block 6 in the Blackbird’s Bounty Mystery Stitch-Along!

For this block, I gathered some of my favorite things about autumn and stitching, two curious blackbirds, cheerful sunflowers, berries, fall leaves and a pumpkin, along with a primitive tin can filled with little sewing room treasures.

I had lots of fun adding the special details to this one! Fly stitches and French knots give the sunflowers wonderful texture, while silver thread and seed beads become tiny “pins.” Iridescent bead eyes, shiny metal charms, wooden acorns and carved buttons add a little extra personality, and I love the loose ribbon tucked into the tin can.

The lore of crows collecting things may (or may not) be true. But I love the sentiment. We've seen some beautiful quilt blocks featuring these birds collecting keys, charms, lockets, and stars. I decided my crow would collect the gift of a sunflower bouquet. A simple design with deep sentiment, full of fall color and fun stitching.

Kits including those beautiful wools as well as threads are available as well. And stay tuned as I put together a little video (by request) on how to keep those points sharp as you stitch.
