Look out….

One of the biggest pieces of news coming out of Emerald City Comic Con 2026 is that Tony Fleecs is bringing Deathblow into the main DC Universe to hunt Deathstroke.

For those unfamiliar, Deathblow, real name Michael Cray, originated in WildStorm Productions and was created by Jim Lee and Brandon Choi during the gritty 1990s era of comics. The character first appeared in WildC.A.T.s before spinning off into his own series.

We have seen Slade Wilson face heavy hitters like Batman, the Teen Titans, and even the Justice League, but he has never faced the sheer, unfiltered 90s grit of Michael Cray.

Some fans are calling the move a nostalgia play, but with Fleecs, known for Stray Dogs, writing, this could end up being one of the most brutal DC Next Level titles on the slate.

Is this the spark the WildStorm characters needed for a real comeback, or are we just crowding the DCU with more “extreme” assassins? 💥
