That wasn't the only trade. West Virginia's healthy turkey population became valuable in wildlife restoration efforts, with turkeys later involved in exchanges for animals including river otters and bobwhite quail.

Apparently the Mountain State once had its own exchange rate:

1 turkey ≈ 1 weasel. 😂

The Fallout community is holding a silent auction to help our neighbors in Weston and Buckhannon! Any artists or local shops that would like to help are welcome. Contact info is in the pictures, or you can contact us and we will help you get in touch with the leaders of this event.

We are also happy to be a drop-off point for goods and donations and can deliver prior to the event.

Back in May, 1000s of Fallout fans from around the world came to Flatwoods, WV for a weekend of celebratrion, community, and charity. They poured MILLIONS into the local economy, but it looks as though, like often happens to West Virginia visitors, they took a piece of state home with them. And now they are ready to answer the call when we need them again.

⚠️Event CANCELED⚠️

We learned yesterday afternoon that the Flatwoods Monster Con 2026 has been CANCELED due to unforseen circumstances. The post said they plan to bring the event back in 2027 for the 75th anniversary of Braxxie's visit to West Virginia!

We definitely appreciate all the likes and shares on last week's post promoting the event.

But...we do now have an open weekend in our schedule if anyone knows any medium to large events that still need vendors!
