Just Breathe

Life can feel overwhelming. Our thoughts can get loud. Worry can make everything feel like too much all at once.

Sometimes anxiety gets so overwhelming that we forget to breathe. And in those moments, it’s important to pause and remind ourselves that we are not carrying everything alone. It’s important to stop and remind ourselves to just breathe.

Everything may not feel okay right away. The situation may not change in the moment. The answers may not come as quickly as we’d like. But God is still with us. He is still near. He is still holding us and guiding us through every struggle.

Even when we feel overwhelmed, even when we are tired, even when we have to remind ourselves again and again, we can keep going because we are not alone.

So just breathe. Everything will be okay. You’ve got God on your side.

And if you have to remind yourself again tomorrow, or even again in the next hour, that’s okay too. God will still be there.

God Has a Plan

Life doesn’t always take the road we expected. Some roads feel lonely. Some turns don’t make sense. Sometimes the path bends, stretches, and leads us through seasons we don’t fully understand. There are seasons that leave us tired, overwhelmed, and wondering what God is doing.

But even when we can’t see what’s ahead, God is already there.

The longer we walk through life, the more we begin to see that God can bring purpose from every part of our story — even the broken places, and even the roads we never wanted to walk.

The things we survived yesterday may be the very things that prepared us for today. The struggles we are walking through now may be shaping our strength, faith, patience, and wisdom for the future. And even though tomorrow is still unknown, it is not beyond God's control.

The road may twist and turn, but we are not walking it alone. God sees every step, every tear, every prayer, and every moment we almost give up.

So keep walking. Keep trusting. Keep going. There is still purpose ahead.

God has a plan — yesterday prepared you, today shapes you, tomorrow awaits you.

I wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes look at some of the sketches I started last night for the three new coloring books I’m working on.

This is a first for me because I don’t usually like showing unfinished sketches. Most of the time, I don’t even show my family. But I wanted to do things a little differently with these coloring books and share more of the process along the way.

These are still very rough draft sketches — just the beginning stage — and they still need a lot of work.

When I create a page, I start with a simple sketch. I don’t worry about getting everything perfect right at the beginning. I just sketch what my mind sees. Then, over the next few days, or sometimes longer, I keep working on it. I change things, fix details, and slowly make the page better.

The pictures with people usually take me the most time because hands, feet, and faces can be tricky, so those pages often need extra work and patience.

Once I feel like a sketch is finished and ready for the book, I upload it and run it through one of my computer programs to turn it into a clean coloring page.

I’ll share more later about each new book, but for now I’m excited to show a little part of the process as these pages begin to come together.

Thank you for following along as I bring these new books to life.

The last several months have been busy as I’ve worked hard, with God’s help, to finish my latest devotional journal and coloring book. I know I couldn’t do any of this without Him, and I always want to give God the praise for every idea, every opportunity, and every step along the way.

This week, I’ve been busy binding devotionals, preparing orders, and getting everything ready to ship, so I haven’t had much time to work on other projects lately.

After spending part of today in town taking care of business and shipping out orders, I’m finally home and taking a little break from devotional book work.

While I’ve been working on the devotional, ideas for three new coloring books have been forming, and I’m so excited to finally sit down with my blank sketch pad and pencils and begin bringing some of those ideas to life. A blank page holds so many possibilities, and I’m excited to see what God helps me create. I always love the beginning of a brand-new creative project.

Tonight, it’s time to relax, sketch, and see where God leads my creativity!

Holding On While Falling Apart
In the Middle of Anxiety and Depression

This book was written for the heart that feels tired, overwhelmed, or barely holding on. It’s for the person who loves God but still struggles. For the one who has prayed for peace, yet still feels anxious. For the one who smiles on the outside but is falling apart on the inside.

I wrote this, with God's help, from things I learned from my own struggles with anxiety and depression. My prayer is that as you turn these pages, you'll remember you are not weak, forgotten, or failing God.

You are human.
You are deeply loved.
And God is still holding you.

This 7-day devotional journal and coloring book includes:

• 7 devotionals for anxiety and depression; each featuring its own prayer, reflection questions, and Faith in Action steps
• 10 journal prompts
• 14 full-page coloring pages
• freestyle journal pages
• blank pages spread throughout the book for your own notes, prayers, Bible verses, or drawings
• practical extra help pages, including an emotional crisis plan, grounding tools, anxious thought practice, and encouragement for hard days • pack of 12 coloring pencils • an adjustable Faith Over Fear ring is included with each book

The ring is a small reminder that when fear feels loud, God is still greater.

You don't have to pretend you're okay. You don't have to have it all figured out. You are not facing this battle alone, and you can keep choosing faith one small moment at a time. God is the One who will carry you through, and faith helps you keep holding onto Him in the battle.

If you would like to purchase a copy, you can do so through my website or contact me directly to order.

I recently pulled out my old sketchbook from high school and decided to paint one of the sketches inside. The paper definitely wasn’t made for paint—the edges curled, the paint didn’t absorb evenly in places, and it fought me a little along the way—but even with the flaws and rough places, I still couldn’t make myself throw it away. This one probably won’t be for sale because of the inconsistencies, but it’s going into my Keepsake Collection—a little reminder that even imperfect things can still hold meaning and beauty.

As I worked on painting this sketch, I couldn’t help but think about how much we can be like this painting. Sometimes life leaves us feeling worn around the edges. We go through things that change us—heartbreak, disappointment, grief, mistakes, unanswered prayers, and seasons that leave marks we never expected to carry. Sometimes we look at ourselves and only see the imperfections and scars life leaves us with or the places where life didn’t turn out the way we hoped.

We focus on the rough places, the scars, the mistakes, and everything we think ruined us. But God doesn’t see us as something to discard. He still holds onto us with love, grace, and purpose—even in the middle of our imperfections.

No matter how worn, broken, or imperfect we may feel, God still wants us in His Keepsake Collection.

After finishing several large custom painting orders, I found myself wanting to slow down for a little while and simply enjoy painting again. These small paintings were such a relaxing reminder of why I fell in love with painting in the first place.

Each one is hand-painted on a 5x7 canvas and will be available for purchase on my website. I hope these little spring paintings bring a bit of happiness to someone else, the way they did for me while creating them.

These paintings can be purchased on my website at the following link.
