Happy National Chai Day!

At Modern Appalachian Kitchen chai is a fan favorite and so much so we have made 3 chai marshmallows.

🫖 Chai - One of our original four marshmallows that started Modern Appalachian Kitchen. This mallow is everything you love about chai. Warm spices like cinnamon,clove, ginger, and cardamom dance with toasted black pepper to bring this marshmallow alive.

🫖 Rose Chai - If Chai is a warm hug, than Rose Chai is the feeling you get after that long awaited hug. Rose Chai will leave you feeling refreshed and satisfied. Made with rose petals and rose water.

🫖 Chocolate Chai - This mallow is for the chocolate purist at heart. Rich chocolate cocoa powder mixed with cocoa nibs and chai.

All of our chai marshmallows are made with fresh brewed chai from Kolkata Chai Co.

Apple C***r Marshmallows have finally returned to the website!

We take pride in our marshmallows and that means no shortcuts here. Our apple c***r marshmallow is made with homemade apple c***r made from our kitchen. Drinking apple c***r is good and all but we think it's better in fluffy form. ☺️

The website is live and we have added back Banana Pudding Marshmallows in honor of Dolly Parton.

We take our vanilla base and add crushed dried bananas along with vanilla wafers to give you that classic banana pudding taste all in the perfect little fluffy mallow square.

I've been dreaming this dream for so long that sometimes I wonder if I will ever wake up.

I've dedicated the last 4 years to making this not only my legacy but a place that celebrates how I was raised and the recipes that I have learned to cherish from the people I love the most.

Trying to fit a candy kitchen dream into a cookie cutter world is hard work. I don't mind all the struggles or all the late hours. But some days imposter syndrome and setbacks begin to crack away the surface of the dream I love. But then those little flickers of hope shine through the cracks and I remember what I always say when someone asks how I do it all. I say as long as the kitchen feels like my happy place, then Modern Appalachian Kitchen will always have a home.

We wanted to give a shout out to Camp Run Kennels for taking such great care of the MAK Dogs while we were away. Brad and Caroline were so accommodating and made the boarding process so easy.

Using a new kennel can be stressful but when we got these pictures we knew we made the right choice.Layla is always so easy going that we didn't even think she knew how to run like this anymore.
