The Old Stone House Gift shop is operated by the Service League of Morgantown to raise money to give back to the community. There are no paid employees. Founded in 1935, Service League of Morgantown’s mission has been to give back to their local community to improve the lives of local citizens to improve the lives of local citizens through charitable, educational and cultural activities. Built in

1795, it is the county’s oldest stone dwelling and is listed on the National Historic Registry. In its 87 years of existence, the League has contributed more than $421,692 back to the Morgantown community. This includes over $26,000 to the Morgantown Public Library, approximately $82,537 toward books for Mon County School libraries, and over $313,155 to other charitable donations throughout the county to improve the lives of local citizens through charitable, educational and cultural activities


Visit our quaint, historic shop year round for unique gifts including WV foods, Blenko glass, pottery, baby gifts, unique home and holiday decor and locally handcrafted items. We even sell USED BOOKS. Service League of Morgantown members staff the Gift Shop; there are no paid employees. All sales proceeds support and finance the League’s community outreach services within Monongalia County.

� Located at 313 Chestnut Street, we're open THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY from 11am-3pm. SUNDAY from noon-4pm in November, December. Our quaint gift shop is housed in a National Historic Site dating to 1795 and owned and operated by Service League of Morgantown.

� Service League of Morgantown proudly kicks off the 15th year � of its CHARITY PARTNER PROGRAM the first week of September at the Old Stone House Gift Shop. Through December 31, 2022, 10% of the shop's gross sales during designated weeks will be donated to 15 specific local charities. The charities change weekly. Schultz's "Tobias' Activity & Workbook for Young Learners" also offers interactive exercises aimed at bringing the frontier and colonial experience alive.

🎨 Students at our Early Morgantown Pottery Learning Experience/Camp spent Day #3 (June 11) at The WOW! Factory painting their hand-built clay pots. Not only have they learned about the early history of Morgantown, the pottery of Jacob Foulk and John Thompson but also facts about the Revolutionary War and America 250. 🇺🇸

😍 The fired pots will be on display at the Old Stone House and returned to students at a Colonial reception on June 28th.

❤️ This Pottery project was sponsored by Service League of Morgantown, owners of the historic 231-year Old Stone House. We greatly appreciate the collaboration of Morgantown History Museum and the WOW! Factory.

⚠️ FYI - There was a sighting on Monday at the Old Stone House --a large gray furry rodent with big ears, whiskers, tail and a red scarf. 🤩 Thanks to our Service League of Mgtn volunteer for dressing as our Tobias the Mouse 🐁 🪤 and welcoming the Pottery Camp students to the Old Stone House. Tobias also did some product placement photos 📸. ❤️

●Students enjoyed a guided tour of the 231-year old National Historic Site, the Old Stone House by Service League Historians, Laura Savio and Mary Louise "Cookie" Schultz. Their tour continued at the Morgantown History Museum .

●Day #2 (June 9) was spent at The WOW! Factory with a presentation of early pottery, a read-aloud from " Tobias Tales From the Past at the Old Stone House ", and a clay handbuilding experience to create a pot.
