Finishing a late night at Jalopy's. Coffee is now cold but the soundtrack is courtesy of one of the coolest things to come out of New York since sliced pizza.

SUM SUN has been keeping me company tonight. Give them a listen. They have several great songs and one called "Blame It on the Rain." (They don't lip sync it, I've seen't it live).

At Jalopy's we love music. Rock, country, yacht rock, punk, blues, grunge, whatever... if it hits, it gets played.

Stop by Saturday 10:30-4, come listen to our Spotify playlist on our kick'n 90's bass system. Listen while finding something really cool to take home.

Maize ( Jalopy's 8% minority owner with majority input) stopped in to check in on her investment and to let everyone know next Saturday is our friends and now neighbor Myles Ahead world famous Paws & Pints event. So come down to the MAC 12-6 to help support all the awesome work they do!

This Monday, I'll be turning 52, when normal people are making wise financial decisions...

JALOPY'S is having a 25% off all clothing / fund-raising sale this Saturday,
Your purchase will go directly to the "he may purchase another vehicle fund (but not until he sells 2 to buy 1 according to his wife) and maintenance account" or it may be that dollar needed to purchase the next interesting..."look at that" item for the shop.

Don't view this as enabling, it's just shopping.

Thank you for helping keep my questionable financial choices alive. They make much better stories and look cooler than responsible adulting.

Hot take from an old head...
I was around when most of this stuff was actually on the racks the first time.
Unpopular opinion: I like repop. Especially clothing.

I don't need the anxiety of wearing a 30-year-old T-shirt just to make a Tuesday Kroger run. I want the look, not the worry of getting a pizza stain piece of textile history.
And shoes? I'm not trusting 30-year-old glue holding together a pair of sneakers, I like my tendons attached.
The shoes I wore all through high school were reissued with my grad year on them even. (A personal tribute or poking fun?) I'm just happy to have them again.
People in the vintage world can spot the difference, and that's exactly what makes real vintage special.
Repops let you wear the style. Vintage lets you own the history. There's plenty of room for both.

We are open this Friday...so if you need something to do this business holiday, stop in and pick up something cool for the holiday weekend. Dress and decorate like you have better stories than everyone else.

We are blushing... Jalopy's has somehow become a finalist in Cincy Magazines Family Choice Awards. We are shocked and assuming some sort of clerical error or until they figure it out...we are never one to waste an opportunity, carpe diem. 😁

l heard a rumor this weekend is Father's Day: Free travel mug with purchase this Saturday. So bring Dad or if he can't make it, come in buy him something or get a gift card.
If you're one of those kids, buy yourself something and give Dad the free mug. We won't judge.

I have a unhealthy infatuation with chalkware and silent statues. 3 years ago, I found this 1967 Austin Productions chalkware statue, The Peddler. He looked like he’d seen things...lived a life and I liked that. He found a new purpose just sitting on a shelf at my house and being admired.
When I decided to open Jalopy's, I realized it was time for this freeloaders' vacation to end.
I dragged him into a photoshoot. I captured his best angle and just like that he became the Jerry West, "The Logo," of Jalopy's.
He now chills in the shop knowing he is a vital part of the Jalopy's machine... still claiming he deserves residual checks for his NIL.
