Dr. Madison Barton currently serves as the Coordinator of Music Programs and Operations for the Otterbein University Department of Music. Previously she served as Administrative Support Associate and Adjunct Trumpet Instructor at Western Carolina University. Madison earned her Doctor of Music and a Certificate in Arts Administration from Florida State University, Master of Music and a Certificate of Baroque Trumpet from the University of Kentucky, and Bachelor of Music from Texas A&M University–Commerce. She was a member of the Faculty Brass Quintet at Western Carolina University, University of Kentucky and Florida State University.
As an active performer, Madison has appeared internationally with the Capital City Brass Quintet in Costa Rica, the Polychroma Brass Quintet in Greece, and the Florida State University Symphony Orchestra in the Dominican Republic. Regionally, she’s performed with the Colorado MahlerFest Orchestra, Asheville Symphony, Asheville Choral Society, Brevard Philharmonic, Tallahassee Symphony, Tallahassee Community Chorus, Pensacola Symphony, and Panama City Symphony, and the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra.
Madison serves as Contracts Coordinator for the National Trumpet Competition and interned with the International Trumpet Guild (ITG) in 2024. She has published multiple reviews in the ITG Journal, and an article in the Historic Brass Society Journal. Madison is proud to be a Greg Black Mouthpieces Endorsing Artist, an S. E. Shires Artist and a Hawkins Mute Affiliate.
