A nest is more than a place to rest; it’s a symbol of home, protection, belonging, and new beginnings. 🪺 Built piece by piece, a nest reminds us that home doesn’t have to be perfect. It is created through patience, care, and the small things we gather along the way.

It represents a safe place to grow, a space to nurture what matters, and the courage to eventually leave that space and take flight. A nest holds the beautiful tension between roots and freedom… where we come from, what holds us, and the wings we grow to use.

Sometimes, the greatest gift we can give ourselves is permission to build a nest of our own. We are always impressed that our Nesters have the tenacity to do so!

UPDATE / 5PM / 09.07.26 — Y’ALL CAME THROUGH. 💕✨Earlier today we put out the call that Dolly needed a food truck — and goodness, did y’all deliver! We had so many folks tagging, sharing and sending us some seriously good suggestions. THANK YOU!

And even if we can’t get all those trucks here tomorrow, we took notes. 👀 We may just have to cook up a few more happenings at The Nest to lure some of them to Mount Jackson!

But for TOMORROW NIGHT, we’re thrilled to say Jillian's Farmstead Kitchen is joining us for Dolly Night at The Nest! 🙌

Jillian will be serving up:
💕 Grilled Pimento Cheese, Bacon & Tomato Sandwiches
💕 Grilled Sub in a Tub Sandwiches

We’ll also have sweet treats inside The Nest, and our friends from Wolf Gap Vineyard & Winery will be pouring beverages.

Are we bummed? A little. Are we going to let it ruin Dolly Night? Absolutely not. If Dolly taught us anything, it’s that when life hands you lemons…you make lemonade. 😂

SO — WE’VE GOT ROOM FOR A FOOD TRUCK!

We have a great (off-street) spot available in the courtyard/side yard beside The Nest for tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8 from 4–8 PM.

We like to call it a living room. 🛋️ Yes, it’s a retail space, but it’s also a spot to come take a load off and breathe in the scent of collaboration. Let your mind float on the breeze of each maker’s stories, dreams, and tenacity to bring something to fruition. Let your eye wander as you experience color, design, and intricacy. This is the place where you allow yourself to just, be. We are proud and honored to feature 4 MJ Nesters: Poppy’s Dust, Ryan Peters, Sunbliss 🌞, and Two Turtle Doves, as well as a bunch of their friends. Trying to escape the rain? Come get cozy with us this weekend.

Porch sittin’ is a tradition that continues with each generation. 🌼 It’s the gentle rhythm of a rocking chair, a friendly wave to someone passing by, a conversation that lasts a little longer than expected. It’s making time to slow down, look up, and simply be together.

Here at The Nest, our rocking chairs out front are a little invitation to do just that: to sit awhile, visit with a neighbor, and enjoy the simple beauty of community.

We’re especially grateful that these chairs were lovingly donated by a wonderful townsperson who understands that community is built in the little moments: a shared smile, a good conversation, and a place to gather.

We’re putting out an open call to our musician friends! Pick your favorite Dolly song and come play us a tune — solo, duo, acoustic, whatever feels right. Message us if you’d like to join in.

Wolf Gap Vineyard will be on site with beverages to sip while you shop, listen and hang out.
