Along with this “neck hanger” guitar stand, I bought another guitar and some other accessories. The attention Bob gives his customers is always like having a good friend being with you, and I know all of GoM’s customers are treated the same. My experience at Bob’s shop has always been consistent, it’s why I choose to go back to his shop rather than ordering things online or going to one of the chain stores. Even when I stop in to say Hi, Bob and the other folks at GoM are friendly, answer questions, and when you leave, you’re glad you stopped by.

A player tip as we head toward fall: this is usually when indoor heat starts kicking on and the air in your house gets noticeably drier, and that's tough on wood instruments. Watch for fret ends that feel sharp against your fingers, a top that looks like it's sinking slightly, or a guitar that suddenly won't stay in tune. Those are all common signs of a guitar drying out. A simple soundhole humidifier for acoustics, or just keeping your instrument in its case when it's not being played, can make a real difference. If something feels off, bring it in and we're happy to take a look before a small issue turns into a bigger repair.

What makes this one worth a closer look: the Gretsch G2655TG Streamliner Center Block Jr in Riviera Blue. That center block down the middle tames feedback and adds sustain you don't always get from a hollow body, the Broad'Tron humbuckers give you a fuller, punchier voice than a typical single-coil setup, and the Bigsby lets you add pitch wobble without knocking the guitar out of tune. Refurbished by MIRC and priced at $649. If you've been curious about Gretsch tone without committing to a fully hollow instrument, this is a nice way in. Come play it before it finds a home.
