Her quilt is done. Don’t tell her, but it wasn’t too “bad” to quilt it; just one wavyish border, but otherwise, pretty good. Maybe she’s finally listening to me about the borders 🤣

Being a quilter/artist, is not a solo journey. You meet so many other very talented artists along the path. I remember attending a women’s law enforcement seminar and a female state police colonel said, “don’t forget to take your hand and reach behind you to help other females.” This saying holds true with my teaching too. You are giving all of your knowledge and experience to your students, so that they can learn and be confident. When I first met Ellen of Rattlesnake Ridge Barn Quilts and I looked around her studio, I was amazed by her work and talent. I am so thrilled that she is in Fons and Porter Love of Quilting magazine. I have to admit that I am envious of her studio - if only I could find a space like that 🥰

There she is and she is in route to Montana. 🥰 What am I going to do now? At some point earlier this year, I thought about starting an online Zoom group for longarmers in the guilds that I belong to. Bringing them together to learn about longarming. The answer that I received, was YES do it! We have seasoned pros, veterans, beginners and people who have never touched their machines!! But, we are learning. This was our third get together and we had an amazing speaker, Kaye Collins of Oh Kaye Quilting. She is a Handi Quilter educator and a Cuddle Ambassador. She taught us about Cuddle and how to longarm it 🥰 Thanks to Close to Home and Bits N' Pieces Quilt Shoppe for being so generous to our group! Thank you to Shannon Fabrics for sending Kaye our way!
