I’m still HERE! I’ve just been taking it slow this summer. I lost my dad in December. I began to reflect on the past year and realized I spent all last summer burning rubber and slinging snow-cones, and not realizing how sick he was. So I’ve been holding in a lot of guilt.
I love this business & owe it all to my husband. Butttt I owe my dad for the words I’ll never forget. He would say “Devin make something of yourself, work hard and always make sure you can provide for your kids”. I literally took that to heart.
Right now I started a new side buisnesss in honor of him Blue Collar Stitch . I started sewing right before he became very sick and it has helped me through the rough moments. It gives me the freedom to be myself. I just know the feeling of sewing up a masterpiece is the same feeling my dad felt when he was fishing. He was and will be the best version of a dad a girl could’ve asked for.
I’m still going to serve up some shaved ice, it’s just been a very reflective few months on the amount of time I spent away from family.
Now sorry for all the mushy stuff—-Come out & see me at the Naples, TX Rodeo. I LOVE this rodeo and the community that comes out to support their cowgirls and cowboys. PLUS the added bonus of having the Watermelon Festival right outside the gates. I love a good 2 for 1. 🍉
