Well Ladies and Gents it’s that time of year again! The 7th annual Charleston Fly Tournament is October 9th and 10th 2026. Kicking things off as usual with the annual Tailers Ball and Captain’s Meeting on Thursday October 8th at Freehouse Brewery from 6pm-9pm. Weigh in and Awards Ceremony will be Saturday October 10th at Rivers & Glen Trading Company Charleston from 5pm-9pm.
We are more than excited to announce that all proceeds from this year’s tournament will be donated to our local heroes, Charleston Waterkeeper.
Charleston Waterkeeper is a nonprofit dedicated to protecting, restoring, and promoting clean water in Charleston, SC’s harbors, creeks, and marshes. They combine on-the-water fieldwork with science-based advocacy: their Swim Alert program tests bacteria levels at about 20 popular swimming and paddling spots each week to warn the public about unsafe conditions, while their Creek Watcher program monitors indicators like salinity, temperature, and dissolved oxygen to track the health of local waterways over time.
Beyond monitoring, they investigate pollution sources, hold polluters accountable under laws like the Clean Water Act, and push local government on water-quality policy. They also run hands-on community programs, including oyster reef and marsh restoration projects and a mobile pump-out service that keeps boat sewage out of the water.
