The CuriosiTea Bookshop Sanpete County's newest bookstore. Only open Sat 11-4 until we move to our new location at 49 W Main in fall of 2026. Sanpete County's newest bookshop!

We sell new, used, and vintage books as well as teas and vintage teaware, some toys & gifts. The CuriosiTea Bookshop is the gift shop for the Hub City Gallery and the Official Bookseller for the MPHNA, as such, we are located by them upstairs (no elevator, sadly) in the old Mount Pleasant City Hall Building at 115 W Main in Mount Pleasant. We sell new and used books, teas, gifts, and snacks. We are currently open every Tuesday night from 5-9, every Saturday from 11-4, and every 1st and 3rd Sunday from 11-4. I also do off-site events (look for my booth at the Scandinavian Days in Ephraim in the Spring!)

I want to create a space for learning and exploring stories and ideas while enjoying the simple things in life, like drinking a warm beverage and reading a good book in a cozy space with good company. If all goes well, I would love to expand into a more prominent space with a small tearoom. Thanks for your support of literacy in Sanpete County!

Just finished setting up these planters on the roof deck both to beautify and block the HVAC system as well as to block the gap at the back of the deck for safety.
I haven’t done much gardening this year since we have been working on the bookstore and the building so much plus the drought. So it was fun to get my hands in some dirt.
Just experimenting with what plants will work here. The rosemary and the lavender I am hoping will return next year as well as the Rainbow Rhythm ‘Tiger Swirl’ Hemerocallis which says is an “adaptable perennial. The mums should be good for the fall. The pink celosia will die when it gets too cold but they were the healthiest looking plants at the nursery so I thought I would give them a try. This is south facing all day with no shade at any point so we will see what can handle that.

Bookshelves are going in! These will all be pimped out with crown and base molding. But bookshelves mean that books can go in soon! This is getting real, folks.

Book shopping until 4 with us and then go get free ice cream until 5 at the Mt Pleasant Mercantile. So fun!

We are weeks away from opening up bookings for the Airbnb that will be above the bookstore in our new building. It has 3 queen beds each with a 3/4 bathroom and kitchenette. 2 have just a microwave and mini fridge but the third has a small kitchen sink, induction burner, and a toaster oven. Can sleep 6 in the beds but there are a few camping mats for kids or teens or adults who don’t mind sleeping on the floor and want to bring as many friends as possible.

This is the roof deck but we will be posting more pics of the inside very soon. Just waiting on the railing and for the rain to stop so we can finish staining the deck. I know and are getting even more popular. This will be a great place for book club overnighters or anything like that.

Putting up picture rails and artwork in The Litho Loft (Airbnb/short-term rental) upstairs! Abe is finishing the roof deck and I am finishing the touchup and decor and we will be ready to take bookings in the next couple of weeks. Comment below with “booking link” and I will personally send you the link to reserve your dates once it goes live (it has 3 queen beds each with its own 3/4 bathroom and kitchenette plus 3 mats for kids or extras to sleep on the floor). All of the artwork will be by Abe Kimball or his talented father Wayne Kimball, both successful Utah lithographers.

Sorry I have not been posting much but we have been working like crazy on the upstairs short-term rental. We still have so much construction material everywhere that I can’t get any good wide shots yet but here are some closeups of some of the detail. We are loving how it is turning out. Heated floors in the bathrooms, a Toto washlet bidet in one bathroom (iykyk and if you don’t, try it once and you will never go back), mini splits in every room, a lot of antiques and vintage pieces, and more. We will be making it available for rent in the next month or so.

Even though we are focused on finishing the building, I am still constantly evaluating and choosing more books for the shop. I have especially been looking at special editions and just fell in love with this copy of Charlotte’s Web. This would@make a fabulous gift. What kid could resist such a beautiful story in such a beautiful binding.
