If shoes are still sitting on the back-to-school list, this is a pretty good weekend to cross them off.

It’s tax-free weekend, and now through Sunday, DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse is also offering 25% off almost everything regular price.*

School starts next week, so we pulled a few of the styles trending right now for anyone still hunting for that first-day pair. Or, you know, the parent who went in for the kids and found something for herself too.

And with new extended hours, there’s a little more room to fit it into the weekend:

Before it became part of the everyday view, this wall at Bowman Place was easy to pass without much thought.

Six years ago, artist Michael Kuffel brought it to life with “Lucky’s Leap,” a Paint the Town mural showing a dog jumping from a dock into the water below.

It sits right across from the Come Back Shack drive-thru, so if you’ve waited there for lunch or dinner, you’ve had a pretty good view of it.

That’s part of what makes it work. It’s playful, local, and tucked into a spot people already use in the middle of a regular day.

It doesn’t ask for much attention. It simply adds something to the moment, whether you’re grabbing a bite, running errands, or heading home.
