Now hear this…
🚨 ATF SUPPRESSOR UPDATE:
ATF Director Rob Cekada says inspectors should NOT cite FFLs for violations when they find suppressors being transferred on a Form 4473.
Cekada addressed the issue during an FFL compliance event, saying dealers making these transfers would not be cited. He was joined by former ATF NFA Chief Steve Albro, who said ATF’s policy is to presume suppressors transferred on a 4473 were legally transferred.
But there’s an important piece still coming:
👉 ATF’s official guidance is NOT finished yet.
Cekada said ATF, the Department of Justice and the White House are involved in developing the guidance, and he expects it could be released within the next few weeks. The guidance is expected to address suppressors, SBRs, SBSs, interstate travel and other questions surrounding the current federal NFA injunction.
So, this is an important update — but there are still questions that the upcoming ATF guidance will need to answer.
