How did the World's Largest Kaleidoscope arrive in the Catskills 30 years ago?

After The Emerson's co-founder, Dean Gitter, had the idea to transform the grain silo on-site, the Brewster Kaleidoscope Society connected him with award-winning kaleidoscope artist Charles Karadimos to design the towering work of art.

The original Kaleidoshows were conceived and designed by Isaac Abrams, known as the “father of psychedelic art,” and his son Raphael Abrams, a visionary computer artist.

Their visuals were further enhanced by a surround sound experience and a captivating musical score composed by Gary Burke, who had previously worked with Bob Dylan, Francis Ford Coppola, and the London Symphony Orchestra.

Our Kaleidoshows have evolved over the years to create new visual experiences with original video art. Stop in to experience one for yourself 🔭💠🏵️
