A few more of my practice pieces. I really am loving the color these prints offer. If you only need 1-2 colors, traditional screen printing is probably more cost effective. However if you want to use full color logos, this is an amazing option. What will come with time is lighter transfer feel. A lot of that is software edits. If we know what color shirt it’s going on, I can “attempt” to eliminate that color in the print and it will feel a lot lighter.

I wore my baseball hoodie the other day and received multiple compliments which was really cool! I do want to work on at least 1 more practice order to see what the quality and cost is and see what I can do with editing software that they offer. If that goes well, I will be ready to accept orders. I really just want to make sure I’m offering the best product I can. There is no doubt, just like the embroidery I will be better with time. But your products and my ability to provide those at high quality is important to me.

Sometimes I don’t know what I’m getting myself into. This is the first time I’ve worked on an actual horse blanket, and it was so heavy and so thick that my magnet hoops wouldn’t hold onto it so I had to turn to my good friend duct tape to help me hold everything together to get the image stitched on. I also had to stand there and hold it because the arms that hold the hoop couldn’t handle the weight of the Blanket. I can tell you my hands and arms and shoulders hurt today. I had to do both sides of the Blanket! And on top of that because of how thick the material was, even though I used a product to hold the fabric down, I had to stitch it twice to make it look good.

Well…she’s here! And my first gang sheet is here to try as well. It weighs like a thousand pounds. It might be as heavy as my embroidery machines. I have been working on better organizing the work room but I may have to rethink the working table because it may require my heavy duty metal table. But we will figure it out. My 4th hat rack should be coming this week too to better organize my hats. Here’s a sneak peak of a few as I work with this new product and try it on various colors. I want to try another company too. Once I get the hang of creating designs and gang sheets I hope to lower the cost as well.

I’ve been tossing this idea around for a while now and have had several requests over the years to do it and with one of the local T-shirt printing shops closing that I send my clients to. I decided it’s time.

This week I am ordering a DTF heat transfer T-shirt press so I can start offering printed clothing items for my customers in addition to embroidery.

Some of my clients will be getting free shirts because I’ll have some practicing to do while I try and perfect the quality and learn to use the press. I’ll share my journey with you soon!!
