The Humane Society Thrift Shop is the primary fundraiser for the Humane Society of Skagit Valley. We appreciate donations of clean, resalable items in good repair, as we don't have time or space to clean or repair items. Furniture donations are especially appreciated, as we can make money quickly on large items. Other items that sell well are dishes, knick-knacks, books, craft and sewing items, hardware, and of course, clothing in excellent condition. We are also grateful throughout the year for donations of Christmas ornaments, decorations, and artificial trees. We store the items until mid-November, when we open our "Christmas Collection" for all to enjoy.

Have you considered volunteering at the thrift shop? Well now would be a great time to start! We are looking for one or more regular volunteers for cashiering. Our shifts can be as little as 31/2 hours or as long as 6. If you need to sit, we can accommodate you. We could really use a person Tuesday and/or Friday afternoons, 2:30-6. Other times may be available as well.

We are also looking for a volunteer(s) to work in the backroom to receive, sort, and clean incoming donations. Many shifts are available, just let us know when is a good time for you so we can accommodate your schedule.

If you're interested come on in during business hours, Mon-Sat 11-6 and talk with Megan or Amy. Thanks!
