Did you know? Young horses going into their first winter have significantly higher energy needs per pound of body weight than mature horses do.🐴

Growing horses are doing two things at once: maintaining body temperature in cooling weather and continuing to develop bone, muscle, and connective tissue. Both of those things require fuel, and the nutritional gap between what pasture and hay provide and what a growing horse actually needs can widen quickly once temperatures drop.

Weanlings and yearlings that look fine in October can lose ground fast in November and December if their feed program isn't keeping up with demand. 🌾

Y'all know we are about to get into something... 1 Stump? 5 stumps? No!! 30-50 stumps? Yeah, somewhere in there! πŸ˜… Shoutout to GFS Equipment Rentals they knew we were getting ready to get into a big stump grinding job and made sure we had sharp cutters on the stump grinder and had it delivered first thing this morning. Im going to try to get a video tomorrow of this beast working. If you haven't already you need to go check them out! Top notch equipment, always clean, and ready for work. I recommend them above all else. We have almost exclusively used their equipment since they opened at the beginning of 2026 in fact we were their first customer! Y'all go talk to Ken and he will get you fixed up. If you're nervous about running the equipment yourself or the job is too big he can send you our way and we will find the time to get you worked into our schedule.

October on the farm. The calves that started as question marks back in spring are now solid, healthy animals heading into their first winter. πŸ‚πŸ„

And the cows who carried them, birthed them, and fed them through the whole season are still right there, steady as ever.

There's a lot of quiet, consistent work that goes into a moment like this. Most of it never gets seen or celebrated.

Here's to the ranchers and producers who show up for their animals through every season. This view is the result of that. πŸ™Œ

Farm and working dogs have nutritional needs that most standard dog food isn't designed to meet. πŸ•

Dogs that are active on a farm, whether they're herding, guarding, or just covering a lot of ground daily, burn significantly more calories than the average house pet and have higher protein and fat requirements to support that output.

If your farm dog is on the same bag of food as a dog that spends most of its time on a couch, it might be worth a second look. πŸ‘€
