We here at West Valley Music pride ourselves on our selection of professional trumpets!

Today, a young trumpet player came in to spend some time trying out a great lineup of horns. From left to right:
🎺 Bach 19065LV
🎺 Yamaha 8335IIS
🎺 Yamaha 8335IIRS
🎺 Adams A10
🎺 Shires CVLA

And that empty spot? That’s where the horn she chose was sitting — a Shires Q10S! 🎉

We’re very fortunate to partner with so many great trumpet makers and to give players the opportunity to compare these instruments side by side and find the horn that’s right for them.
Congratulations on the new Shires!

Another beautiful flute demo from one of our own!
Laurie, our print specialist here at West Valley Music, is spending some time with a Sankyo flute and showing off the beautiful tone, color, and responsiveness these instruments are known for.
It’s always fun hearing the different personalities of the flutes we have come through the shop, especially with a great player behind them.
Come by West Valley Music, check out our flute selection, and give one a try for yourself!

A legendary Bach has arrived at West Valley Music.
We’re excited to welcome the Bach 190 65V trumpet in a beautiful lacquer finish to our showroom. Featuring the renowned 65V bell, this model offers a broad, rich sound with exceptional warmth, depth, and projection, while maintaining the signature Bach core that players have trusted for generations.
To give you an idea of what this horn can do, I put it through its paces with ’Round Midnight. Whether you’re playing jazz, commercial, or classical music, the 190 65V has the depth, flexibility, and color to shine in just about any setting.
Stop by West Valley Music and take it for a play test!

Haven’t posted one of these in a minute. The last one I posted asked for one more octave, I kinda sorta got it. Anyway, just having bit of fun.

A beautiful instrument in the hands of one of our own.

Laurie, our print specialist here at West Valley Music, spent some time demoing the Muramatsu EX flute—and it was an absolute joy to hear. The EX offers a rich, warm core with incredible depth and projection, paired with the refined response and craftsmanship Muramatsu is known for. It’s a flute that feels just as expressive in intimate settings as it does in larger performance spaces.

And it couldn’t come at a better time—April is Flute Month at West Valley Music. It’s the perfect opportunity to explore new instruments, repertoire, and everything flute.

Hearing Laurie bring out the color and nuance of this instrument was a reminder of how inspiring the right setup can be—especially when it’s in the hands of someone who’s part of our team.

Come by the shop to try the Muramatsu EX for yourself and celebrate Flute Month with us.

Great players make great horns come alive.

We recently had in the shop putting the Adams A1 V2 trumpet through its paces, and it was something to hear. The A1 V2 offers a brilliant, focused sound with exceptional slotting and projection, while still allowing the flexibility and color modern players demand. It’s a horn that feels equally at home in a section, commercial setting, or solo spotlight.

Come by West Valley Music to try the Adams A1 V2 for yourself and experience the response, balance, and craftsmanship that Adams Brass is known for.

New to the shop and already getting some serious attention.

The Yamaha YSL-891Z trombone has officially joined our lineup at West Valley Music. Designed with the modern jazz player in mind, the 891Z offers a quick, lively response, beautifully centered tone, and the kind of flexibility that makes phrasing feel effortless. Whether you’re playing lead in a big band or shaping a lyrical solo, this horn delivers clarity, color, and projection.

We’re excited to have this model in store and even more excited that it’s currently being demoed by Joseph Yang. Come by, hear it up close, and take it for a test drive yourself.
