As a kid we all have ridden thousands of miles on our 2-wheeled bikes. And as adults a lot of us have continued to ride 2-wheeled or "wedgies" as we call them in the trike world. But as we get older, many, if not the majority of adults stop riding bikes for several reasons, but the majority of the

reasons are of a physical nature. Back issues, neck issues, knees, hips, balance issues, etc., plus military injuries. But now all of those reasons can be taken away from why we cannot ride again. Recumbent Bicycles of Tennessee was started because we wanted to enable as many adults as possible to be able to get out and ride like they did before, as a kid when they were growing up. We carry 2-Wheeled Recumbents, 3-Wheeled Recumbents, 3-Wheeled recumbent trikes, 3-wheeled adult trikes and even a 3-wheeled Hand-Crank-Only recumbent trike for those folks that are without use of their legs. Hi, I'm Bobby Hanes, and opening this Recumbent Bike and Trike shop is a lifetime dream that has come true, thanks to family, determination and lots of hard work. This Velotric trike is fully electric with lights, mirrors, turn signals, fenders. a trunk large enough to hold some groceries, and more. The fat tires and low center of gravity add stability to this upright trike. It features a 7 speed gear set and a hub drive motor. This trike even folds for those who need that feature. This would make a great cruiser around the neighborhood, campground, or wherever you need to go. This trike retails for around $2500. This system features a chainless drive that works with a pedal powered generator and a hub motor that can move you from 0-20mph in less than 4 seconds (if you choose to go that fast). Someone brought in a trike the other day to have it looked over because it was being given to a famliy member to ride. They wanted to make sure the trike was in good shape and would be safe. I could tell the trike had been ridden very little. The tires still had the nubs on them and the trike looked to be in good condition. This trike did not come from our shop and a lookover proved me right. What I noticed most was that there were several things that just seemed off. The brakes were noticeably soft, the rear seat stays were not installed correctly, the chain tubes were loose and ziptied, the rear rack was installed incorrectly, and there were a couple other things that needed addressing. It took about an hour to go over the trike and fix the small things that needed to be done.
I am not saying that whoever assembled this trike did it wrong, but it could have been better. When you buy a trike, know who built it and make sure they are knowledgeable on how it should be built. Just something to consider when you are looking for your new ride. If we can help you in any way, please let us know.
