A vintage Kay banjo

This is been a little problematic from the beginning because it does not have the correct parts on it and it's kind of cobbled together.

It had the wrong head tension ring and neck for this instrument.

I have replaced what I could and did what I can to make it work

If you see the last picture there's a casualty of war one of the tension lugs grabbing my finger skin

It was a challenge to find parts but we did it!

It does not have a selector
You will notice there are three toggle switches at the bottom.
Each one activates its own pickup.

The cavities are smaller in these days so I had to use blade rails in the middle and neck
I have a quad rail in the bridge.

Surprisingly it plays very well for its age and condition that I got it in

It literally came in just body and neck and tuners.

There was a lot of modern modifications had to be done to make this work.

The three toggles have three independent tiny wires that went through the body under the pickups.
I had to redrill for these holes to allow modern sized wires to go through.

I did try to use as much original equipment as possible but I ended up having to bypass those small wires and just directly hook up where they were connecting
