This is a sentimental piece of mine and a labor of love, family and history.
I grew up here in Murray but joined the military at 26. I met my husband at Fort Campbell and eventually I got out of the military to start our family. My husband stayed in for 34 years so we were privileged to move all around the world.
3 years ago we moved to Murray to be closer to my parents. Literally across the field.
This hutch originally belonged to my grandmother that lived next door to me when I grew up. When she passed away my sweet Aunt Wanda got the hutch so it moved all the way to my aunts house in Kuttawa. Less than a year ago my aunt unfortunately passed away from cancer but before she passed she gave the hutch to me. So basically (next door) the hutch came back home.
We were in the middle of building our house when all this occurred and I wanted this piece to be special. I didn’t have room in my dining room for this so I built the pantry shelves around it! I cleaned it up and gave it a new paint job and now when I open the pantry doors the hutch is right there staring at me!
I filled it as full as I could with so many odds and ends. The majority are from our time when we lived in Belgium and some are from items found in Ky.
I couldn’t be happier with this and just wanted to share.
