My mom married my stepdad, who is a Marine, when I was 13/14. Not knowing anything about the military & then uprooting the only life I knew from San Diego to Philly was devastating to me. Lived in Philly for a year then my parents told me we’re were going to Okinawa. I did not want to go. I am an only child. It was hard. I felt alone. It was hard adjusting, but Okinawa was so beautiful & I have great memories. I ended up meeting my husband there & now we have 2 amazing kids who are growing up in this crazy military life. Kudos to my kids for being able to adjust to all of our moves every 3-4 years, having to make new friends and moving to a new environment after finally adjusting to the last place, understanding that daddy can’t be home all the time, etc. I wanted to create a post as April is the month of the military child. Thank you to my customer who let me create this super cute shirt for her daughters. 🥰
