‼️ New Police Records front desk hours‼️

▪️New front desk hours: 7:30am-5:30pm Monday-Thursday

▪️Starting on April 19 the Police Records front desk will be closed on Fridays. This change is to align with other clerical staff at the City of Muskegon who do not work on Friday.

▪️How does this affect me?
On Fridays you will no longer be able to pick-up/purchase beach parking passes, request police records, traffic reports, gun permits, register bikes, pay parking tickets in person.

▪️Police officers will still be working 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Call 911 in any emergency.

▪️The vestibule in the Police Department is open 24 hours 7 days a week. People can use the phone in the vestibule which will allow them to speak to an officer on duty to file a police report.

Make sure you read up on your rules and regulations as the fishing season is beginning for the year. There are some new rules that could cost you dearly if you don't catch them... Here is a link, check out the new restrictions on type 3 and 4 streams in particular, they may make your blood boil (1 rainbow trout, 20" long in your daily possession limit?)

For those of you wanting to get fi****ms purchase permits that have to obtain them from Muskegon County, the Clerks office is moving. They should be open at the new location on Monday.

And of course, Facebook has decided that their appeals page is going to be broken so you cannot file an appeal when they restrict you based on false flags on their website. Way to go smart people. You ought to be ashamed of your technology.

I really wish my customers would remain, but those who have something against fi****ms would leave my page.. They told me it was a "follower" that flagged my post.

Representatives from the Muskegon County Circuit Court Records and District Court Records will be on site to provide necessary documents to applicants to enable them to submit their requests to the court to set aside qualifying criminal convictions.

Current Fi****ms Purchase Regulations until February 13, 2024 is
28.422 on the https://www.legislature.mi.gov/ website.

Effective February 13, 2024, 28.422 will be obsolete and will be replaced by the following 2.

28.422.amended puts the requirement for a License to Purchase into place

28.422a sets forth the exceptions for people who do not need a License to Purchase

This screenshot has been sent out in a document by the ATF, who received it from the State Police. After reading, re-reading, and consulting with various agencies, including the State Police Legal Resources Department (Who could not give legal advice), the ATF, FBI NICS Michigan Liaison, City of Muskegon Police Department, and the Michigan State Police Records Division, the attached image is how the new law reads.

We are currently offering the NRA Basic Concealed Carry Weapons classes which is valid in many states, however our goal is to provide you with a certificate which is valid in the State of Michigan.

Price for the class is $100 per person if you use your own firearm and ammunition. Use ours, there is a $10 rental fee, and you will need to purchase the ammunition from us.

If we deem your firearm to be unsafe, we will ask you to secure it and utilize one of our fi****ms. Please check with us to see if we will accept your firearm for the class prior to the class if you have questions. No "hair triggers" will be accepted for the class.

Veterans & Senior discounts of 10% off class fee, non-stackable. Discounts do not apply to ammunition for the class, as the ammunition is already discounted.

Up to 4 people in a class, class can take place in a variety of settings, and the range time can be at a variety of locations. If you have a larger group, we can accommodate a custom class. Class will last a minimum of 8 hours as required by the state of Michigan. The class will require range time to verify that you have retained the knowledge and can hit the target while safely handling the fi****ms.

I cannot stress this enough:

For your safety and the safety of everyone involved, Absolutely no ammunition in the classroom, no matter what setting that might be... in doors, out doors, etc. You will only use ammunition at the range when instructed to do so.

If you are deemed to be a safety violator at any given time, you may be asked to leave and return at a later date to complete your training, OR you may be asked to leave without the option of returning at the discretion of the Instructor in Charge. If you are asked to leave, and given the option to re-schedule, you MUST schedule a private safety class with us before you can re-take our class, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Class fee's are non-refundable. While we understand things come up, people forget, etc. we have to consider everyone's time who is involved in the classes. Please review the requirements for obtaining a CPL in the State of Michigan so that you don't waste your money at
