A holiday craft market featuring the unique works of 70 juried local and regional artists and craftspersons. Over 60 local juried crafters gather their wares in a timberframe home to offer you the most unique handmade gifts available anywhere. Open just 3 days each year, the Friday, Saturday and Sunday following Thanksgiving.

For anyone disappointed that Christmas on the Hill is gone, I have a solution! Please visit my friend Jeanine Harshman's open house at Middlepoint Studio. Several COTH crafters are participating there. You'll find wood, wreathes, the last of my Mom's wool mittens, snow globes, The Black Sparrow Bath Co. soaps, candles, and of course, Jeanine's fabulous painted ornaments, feathers , switch plates and other works. Jeanine's studio lies in a lovely woods near Wolfsville. If you are unfamiliar with the area, download or print directions before you go, Scrooge himself stole all the GPS from those hills! Don't miss it, and tell them COTH sent you!

Many of you have asked, and sadly I must announce the end of an era. Cary and I are retiring from Christmas on the Hill. But when one era ends, another begins, and so it is with us. Carson graduated in 2020, early in the pandemic. Trade school options evaporated, and it looked like his formal education had come to an end. Having none of that, Cary and I embarked on a journey that continues today...we bought a school bus. With the help of you-tube videos we directed Carson through the entire process of converting it into a small RV...a "Skoolie". We put every tool we could into his hands-- spray guns, grinders, all types of saws, drills and screwdrivers, floor nailers, sanders, the works; and taught him to use them all. In 2021 we took the maiden voyage to South Dakota, and the dream took flight. We've had several great trips since then- New England, Great Smokey Mountains, and another trip west and are currently awaiting a new motor so we can get back on the road in the spring. We loved every minute of Christmas on the Hill, and want to thank each of you who participated as a guest, crafter, helper, or any of the other jobs associated with the show. We will miss you all. If you see our little white bus on the road, throw up your hand and honk the horn! Happy Trails! Here is a video of Carson giving a tour of the bus just before our first trip.

Christmas on the Hill remains closed this year due to Covid. I'd encourage you to visit two other wonderful craft show in the area this weekend, Stoney Gardens and Middlepoint Studio. Check their pages for details. (BTW, those mittens you love will be available at Middlepoint Studio.) We miss everyone and wish you the happiest Christmas ever, and a healthy New Year.

It is with sadness that I confirm that Christmas on the Hill is cancelled for 2021, due to Covid. With the Maryland vaccination rate still less than 65%, as well as the Delta and Gamma Variants on the rise, I cannot ask my family and staff to risk this exposure. In addition, I’m not willing to ask our vendors to commit when another shutdown may be looming on the horizon. Social distancing would be impossible to impose, and there isn’t a satisfactory way to disinfect our home for us to stay here during the show.

We’ve waited until now to make this tough call in hopes of improvement in the big picture, but it hasn’t come. I hope you understand, and if you have questions, please email. Cary, Carson and I wish all the best to each of you, health, happiness and a wonderful holiday season, and we look forward to reopening in 2022.
