In September 2021, 17-year-old Benjamin Elliott called 911 to report that he had fatally stabbed his 17-year-old twin sister, Meghan Elliott, in their Texas home. Claiming he thought he was having a realistic nightmare, his defense argued he was sleepwalking (parasomnia) during the attack. In February 2025, a jury found him guilty of murder, and he was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
