Knottie Turtle

Knottie Turtle I have fallen for the art of macrame: creating beauty using simple knots and complex patterns. 🪢🐢

Macrame and crystal Sun catchers! One measures about 17” and the moon is about 6”. No sun today but still catches the light! 2mm braided cord, 4 and 6 mm faceted crystal, gold wire used for the wrapping. Lots of AB crystals to refract the light! This one took me a little while to get the balance of macrame and wire wrapping.

Did not post a spider the last couple of days. Was working on an idea that did not pan out so I had to pivot but will still save it for another time.

For this spider, I used a repurposed beadfrom a necklace for the head, a lampwork glass bead for the body, glass seed, bugle and 4mm faceted crystals for the legs. Love the smaller size too. I think her name is “Iris!” Get it?! 😆

Here’s 4 more spiders. All made with Pom Pom beads but all with a different vibe. Each has a little bit of bling !

Working on some pompom spiders. Will post tomorrow in the sunlight. They all have their own bling!

Working on my fusion of macrame and wire wrapping/sun catcher. It takes me a lot more time to put it together. Contemplating a big dragonfly pendant or a big prism. Maybe neither.

8mm Sapphire faceted glass crystals, swirly bugle beads, 6mm light blue faceted crystal glass, a unique moth charm and glass beads for the body make this Christmas spider shiny and calm. Her name is Hope.

Today’s Christmas spider- I repurposed an old necklace for the body and used watermelon red glass 6mm and 8 mm crystals, 8 mm onyx beads and some silver accents to complete the look! He’s kind of cool!

A little bit of boho vibes, a little bit of sun catcher vibes, a little bit of celestial, a little glimmer and shine, and a lot of peace ☮️. I used 6 mm crystal faceted glass beads wrapped with 22 gauge stainless steel wire, 3 mm 3-ply cotton cord, a couple of pretty glass prism crystals, and some star charms. I used aluminum craft wire to wrap the macrame with 8 mm crystal faceted beads.

I have mentioned the Christmas Spider quite a few times now. I was seeing lots of pictures of beaded spiders and thought they were pretty and unique. It wasn’t until I learned the beautiful story behind the spider at Christmas was I so compelled to create my own.

Here’s a short YouTube video about the miraculous little holiday spider.

Today’s Christmas Spider - soft blues and turquoise and a little smaller than some of my other ones.

I used my mom’s old costume jewelry for the body, Czech glass and glass seed beads for the legs.
