Mystic River Chocolate crafts bean-to-bar chocolate from pure, unrefined heirloom cacao from small farms, blended with natural organic fruits, botanicals, herbs and essences. We carefully select our ingredients, and include as many organic a
nd unrefined as possible, including raw organic cacao nibs, organic monk fruit and unrefined organic coconut palm sugar. Twelve years ago, we aimed to create the best tasting organic dark chocolate from our tiny commercial kitchen, and share it with friends. Hundreds of farmers markets later, we’re happy to bring our delicious handcrafted bean-to-bar chocolate to you from our store in downtown Mystic. Mystic River Chocolate Cafe features all of our signature chocolate creations, bars, barks, and confections. Deep, dark, thick, rich European-style drinking chocolate. Local-roasted and premium organic coffee and espresso. Treats made from our signature Mystic River Chocolate coverture. Gorgeous chocolate-dipped fruit. We handcraft Soft-serve ice cream. A new line of Belgian milk chocolate bars. We have handcrafted truffle gift boxes, 3-Bar gift boxes, drinking chocolate mixes and more. The farmers we buy our beans from skillfully grind, roast, and sweeten their cacao without diluting the bean’s essence through careful farming and fermentation. Our cacao suppliers ensure farmers are paid a fair wage through an ethical and sustainable supply chain. Our Chocolatier's cacao bean-to-bar process has been honed with years of thoughtful patience and respect for the alchemy of chocolate making. We hand-make our chocolate from organic cocoa beans, and from there, we create bars, truffles, confections and more using our unique chocolate coverture. To our signature coverture, we add the finest natural ingredients, without adding artificial flavors, colors and preservatives. Our small-batch processing sustains the unique flavors of pure cocoa. We support fair and direct trade, sustainable agriculture, and support small organic cocoa farmers who have learned their trade over generations.
