Okay, I'm smiling... a little. The cause for this great celebration of unrestrained joy is thanks to all of YOU. We have done more business in the past 10 days than we did in the months of July and August combined. On the website. Thank you. We have been making an effort to let y'all know what we have and what we are getting in. There are still some things you can do even if you never order a single book:
1) Like, share, and comment on Facebook and Instagram.
2) Tell your friends about Wendie's Find-a-book service.
3) Tell us what you would like to see. (We have recently finally begun ordering new stock again)
4) Bring us small batches of saleable used books in good condition (1 shopping bag at a time, please)
5) Make an appointment to come by the office. There you can live-browse the stock, just like in the store.

While chances are good that when Boris Vallejo painted the art for this cover, he depicted Tarzan with a bow and arrow, BUT in this story, Tarzan could be any of the three humanoids...even the doll-sized fellow! Tarzan's adventures usually involve more brute strength than science -- let alone advanced science that can shrink a full-grown man down to eighteen inches tall -- which makes this story unusual indeed.

WENDIE'S WINDOW

I love Micheal E. Jimerson's books. I also love that we have uncommon spellings of our first names in common. (As I write this, Grammarly shows an ugly red line of judgment under his first name, but I ain't changing it, because it ain't wrong. So there.)

"Striking Justice" is his newest release. It's available now in digital format, but the paperback book won't be released until May 2027. Which brings me to the reason for this post.

He was generous enough to send us four copies of this latest installment in his E.J. Kane mystery series, in hopes that we could find four volunteers who would take a free copy in exchange for writing an honest review on Goodreads. I jumped at the chance to read more of former Texas Ranger E.J. Kane's adventures, having already devoured "White Gold" and "Draw a Hard Line".

So, how about it? A new copy of the latest novel by an award-winning local author, and all it will cost you is an honest review on Goodreads. Well, that and the trip to our office/library to pick it up.

Last year's East Oak Lane Neighborhood Yard Sale was such a success, we're doing it again this year!

Our contribution will, of course, be mostly books at $1 (hardcovers) and 50 cents (paperbacks). But we'll also have some handmade jewelry (Wendie's new hobby) and other items, including clothing, shoes, and whatever else we can scare up between now and Friday.
