Welcome to the official page for Hanawalt & Son Lumber Inc. If you’ve lived around Chickasaw County for a while, you’ve probably driven past our place without realizing it’s a business. The property is also a private residence so it’s easy to overlook the sawmill, most folks don’t know what actually happens here — and that’s on us. We’re hoping to change that now!
We’re a family‑run sawmill that’s been operating quietly for generations. Our hours are steady — 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, plus Saturday by appointment — and our work is hands‑on, honest, and rooted in tradition.
Here’s what we actually do:
• We mill and dry hardwoods like maple, hickory, oak, walnut, and occasional live‑edge slabs (availability varies).
• We produce bulk mulch and bulk sawdust, loaded by wheel‑loader bucket into pickups, dump trailers, and farm equipment.
• We supply pallet lumber to both commercial companies and private individuals.
• We do custom rough‑sawn green lumber for trailer floor replacements, horse stalls, building projects, farm repairs, and more.
• We work with cabinet makers, furniture builders, flooring shops, farmers, and DIYers across the region.
We’ve always relied on word‑of‑mouth — and it’s served us well — but we realized there are a lot of people who don’t even know we exist or know they can buy from us. So this page is our way of opening the doors a little wider, sharing what we do, and making it easier for folks to find us.
