2025. New year. New dolls. Same heart.

2025 will be a year of experimentation here.

Stories will still exist at the heart of this account, but I want to try out some other things this year too. Hope you all enjoy the ride with me.

Stovall and Mini Giant catch up after a whole year away from instagram.

What happened? Where did I go? Why did I take a one year hiatus?

Well, to be honest I got burnt out. After 3.5 years of posting daily content and turning a 3d printing hobby into a business it all became too much work on top of my real life responsibilities. Sprinkle online drama on top of that and it just ruined my joy of sharing my dolls and such. So I told myself I would take a year off. Boy was that hard. I missed posting and the engagement with the online doll community. However, the last year really resparked my love for my collection. It’s also expanded my collection.

As you may already know I have spent 15 years collecting Ken dolls. Well, over my year away I have finally completed my vintage Ken collection and found a passion for vintage Barbie’s as well.

Back in March of this year I found a once in a lifetime haul of vintage new in box Barbie’s. I included a few pics of those here.

So much more happened over the last year and I’ll talk more about it as I’m posting again.

However I won’t be doing daily posts again. I’m going to share what I want when I want with no pressure. Im enjoying my dolls again and not going to push myself to a point where I don’t again.

See y’all around!

Alright y’all, I have to make a confession. As you know by now I’m a Ken collector. He is the MOST important doll to me, not just an afterthought like so many Barbie collectors.

Well, after spending a week at convention and seeing so many beautiful vintage dolls… I may have decided to get JUST ONE vintage Barbie to display with my vintage Kens. No biggie though, right? It’s just one Barbie, right? Well… Thats what I told myself as I placed a bid on evil-bay.

May I present to you, my new to me 1961 Brownette Bubble Cut Barbie. I’m new to vintage Barbie, but from what I have read online, she was only made in 1961 and was a Sears exclusive doll.

The fact she was exclusively made in 1961 was a huge selling point for me. 61 being the year of Ken made her the obvious candidate to add to my collection. I also loved her brownette hair color. Brownette flocked Kens are also my favorite. So it just made sense.

After winning the doll I also found out that she had some retouching by the one and only . I was even more excited to have a doll that has been touched up by someone whose miniature furniture I have always admired.

About that just one vintage Barbie thing though… I have already bought others. 🫣 Thanks to some enablers. You know who you are. 🤣

Barbie will never be the focus of my collection, but I will admit that some of her vintage fashions are just exquisite.

Wowzers! We have made it home from the Barbie Convention and let me tell you, it is exhausting. A ton of fun, but there are so many incredible things to do, people to meet, programs to attend, workshops to do, sales rooms, competitions, raffles, meals, auctions, the list goes on and on. As tired as I have been the last few days, it was 100% worth it and I cannot wait to go back next year.

Now, the first things I want to share with you all from convention are two of my now most prized possessions in my entire collection.

First up, I found a 1961/1962 truly MINT IN BOX Ken doll. I say 61/62 as I really can’t figure it out. The box is clearly 61, but it really should not have included a shirt if it was a 61. BUT that is not even the impressive part, see that cellophane wrapper still over his head? That’s right, this guys flocked hair has not been touched or played with and that brown band draped around his neck/shoulder is the rubber band that would have been used to seal the cellophane. Oh but wait, did you notice anything about his eyes? They are missing the dark eye liner! That’s right. A factory flaw! Making him even more exciting to have in my collection. Ok, I need to take a second and breathe before I hyperventilate with excitement. 😂

Alright, ready for the next item? I’m not sure I am. My heart nearly stopped when I stumbled upon this dressed doll Ken! The brunette Ken is in quite excellent condition as is the outfit, but those are not what is so exciting about this purchase. You can find those anywhere in rather good condition. The BOX itself is what is exciting here. In 1962/1963 Ken came ready-dressed in different fashions. The boxes were given a new design, and had a clear plastic inner cover with a golden Ken sticker stating the outfit name. Sadly mine is missing the clear plastic cover with the sticker.

In all my 14 years of collecting, I have not seen one of these boxes, let alone in such amazing condition.

Now that’s not all I bought, but they are my favorite purchases. Stay tuned over the following weeks as I share more of my purchases and experiences!

I’ve got chills, there multiplying!

I am beyond excited to share with you all a new doll that I NEVER thought I would have in my collection.

A doll that needs NO introduction, Danny Zuko.

Let me take it back a few steps. The movie GREASE is and always will be my absolute favorite movie! John Travolta as Danny Zuko was my first ever crush. I dressed as Danny for Halloween many, many, many times. I watched the movie on VHS so many times that my dad had to splice and fix the film multiple times. I knew every word of the movie. Taught myself many of the dances. The list goes on and on.

Fast forward to 2009 when I started my Ken collection. The 30th anniversary Grease Barbie’s had just been released the year before and I was searching everywhere for the Danny Zuko doll. Assuming they had to have made one. I went back and looked at the 25th anniversary Grease Sandy doll from 2005 and was shocked to learn that there wasn’t a Danny doll. Devastated in fact.

It wasn’t until I stumbled upon ’s flickr account a few years later and discovered his viral Danny Zuko doll that everyone who loves Grease and Barbie was fawning over.

The doll had already been sold on eBay at that point to some very lucky customer. This must have been 2013-2014?

Fast forward 9-10 years and I am lucky to call Cy a friend. I have been a fan of Cy’s work way before I created this account or had a conversation with him.

Over the last few weeks we have been collaborating on this Danny doll. There is a lot of love and time invested in making sure this doll is even better than my imagination. I will make another post in the future detailing all of the steps involved in getting the perfect Danny Zuko head mold.

I am still in shock as I hold this Danny doll. I was convinced that I would never have a doll of him in my collection.

Thank you for making my actual dream doll a reality.

Cory: What kind of monster customizes an entire kitchen, then leaves it completely empty of food or cookware?

Hank: Maybe he just ran out and is out grocery shopping now. Stovall does seem like a procrastinator, don’t you think?

New guy: But I’m starving! I could really go for a pizza all to myself right about now.

*Stovall walks into the kitchen*

Cory: Well look who it is, the man trying to deprive us all of food. Get your pitchforks fellas!

Stovall: Woah woah woah. Slow your roll guys. Let me explain. You see, what had happened was…

Hank: Oh come on. We are hungry bub. Just give us the update quickly.

Stovall: Alright. The GIANT had big plans for the kitchen and other renovations. Unfortunately he’s experiencing some work place stress and it’s put a limit on his creativity. So he’s not finished the projects or been active here recently. Give him some time and I’m sure things will return to normal.

Hank: Well now that you put it that way… I think we can settle with just grabbing some fast food here and there.

Stovall: Wait, who is the new guy? You guys just keep multiplying.

Hank: He’s one of us “Cy Guys”. 😁

Stovall: Oh I see. I’m going to have to talk with the GIANT about this. It’s starting to feel like he’s looking to replace me.

Welcome new guy. Do you have a name?

New guy: Well ummm.. to be honest, I don’t know. I don’t have any memories before showing up here in your kitchen.

Stovall: Oh I see. Okay, no problem. We can let the others decide on your name, back ground, hobbies, etc.

New guy: The others? That sounds… scary.

Alright Stovall, you ready to meet the second doll from ?

I’d like to you meet Hank, the Dream Daddy doll.

Hank: Hi there Stovall. It’s nice to meet you.

Stovall: Howdy Hank. Ouch. That’s quite a grip you’ve got there. I see you have the new looks buff bod. I know who will be doing the heavily lift around here now.

Hank: Sure little guy, happy to help around the place any way that I can.

Stovall: Hey now, who you calling little guy?

Wowzers. You guys, how amazing is this new doll from ? I am so glad to have one of them in my collection!

Also, I still need to name blonde Stovall. I’m trying to decide between Tommy and Cory. What do you guys think?

I am so excited to introduce you all to the newest member of the Stovall-verse. He is the first of 3 new guys to join the crew.

This was a very exciting project that and I have been working on. Thanks to my handy dandy 3D scanner, I was able to get a perfect 3D model of Stovall’s head. Combine that with the wicked talent of painting him to look like an original Stovall but in new colors.

*chef’s kiss*

I could not be more pleased with this stunning new version of Stovall.

While the GIANT is working on Dakota’s new bedroom furniture, I thought I’d help with a new chair for her place as well.

Recently the GIANT made these pink and green chairs that are going into the Etsy shop, but I wanted to give Dakota something truly one of a kind. So after digging through my fabric stash, I decided to try upholstering one of the spare chairs.

I think it turned out great! I hope she loves it.

If you are interested in the green or pink chairs, they will be available in my Etsy shop at 9 am CST! Check out the link in my bio, or search for printedbystovall on Etsy.

Dakota: Hey neighbor! I was thinking about what you said the other day. Are you sure the GIANT wouldn’t mind helping me furnish my new place? How do I go about that? Is there a formal process? Paperwork? An email? Do I just ask him directly?

Stovall: Hey there. Take a breath. Ha. You are going to hyperventilate if you don’t slow down. I promise he’s more than happy to help. Making mini furniture for us is his passion. When you see him around just talk to him.

D: You aren’t playing a joke on me are you? The GIANTs not going to just look at me all funny after I ask, is he?

S: No, no, now if you were talking to Mini or Smolder… I can’t guarantee they wouldn’t be pulling one over on you. Ha.

D: Mini and Smolder? What are you talking about? I think I’m going to need a coffee chat soon to get the tea on the other members of the Stovall-verse. Anywho. Thanks for the clarification on the GIANT. Will let you know how it goes. Talk to you later, bye.

*Dakota turns to the GIANT*

Umm, hi there. Shall I call you Mr GIANT?

*Silence*

Ok. Perhaps you don’t speak? Idk. This feels strange. Would you help me make some furniture for my new place? I’ve been looking at some nice rattan bedroom furniture. It would just be fabulous! As you can see, I don’t currently have anything. It’s a blank canvas just ready to go.

*more silence*

Stovall must have been tricking me. This GIANT doesn’t even talk.

*a knock at the door*

Stovall: Hi, sorry we aren’t buying any more Girl Scout cookies. I already have 5 cases in the shed.

Dakota: Uh… Hi I’m actually your new neighbor Dakota, I just moved in next door and brought you a pie to introduce myself.

S: Oops. Sorry. We have just been inundated with Girl Scouts lately. My apologies. Pie you say? I love pie. Would you like to come in?

*Stovall give Dakota a tour of the dioramas, ending in the living room.*

D: Wow. I just love your style. It’s so…

S: Granny chic? That’s what I like to call it.

D: Ha. That’s a great description. I was going to say vintage, but I like yours better. Where do you get all of this fabulous furniture and decor? I love that’s it’s not all hot pink. Don’t get me wrong, I love a touch of pink as an accent but you know what I mean. Right?

S: Oh I totally understand. You see that person taking the pictures of us? Well, that’s the GIANT. He makes almost all of the furniture and accessories for our house. I bet if you asked nicely, he’d help you decorate your new place.

D: Do I see him? He’s hard to miss. Lol. I was wondering why he was following us around. It’s a bit intimidating. However know that I know he is the man behind your fab decor, I’m at ease.

S: Yes, don’t be intimidated. He’s a gentle GIANT. Now let me take that pie to the kitchen and you should introduce yourself to the followers and the GIANT.

D: Hi y’all! I’m Dakota. I just moved here from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
I’m an animal lover. I have a cat that I’m allergic to, but I love her dearly and deal with it. 🤷🏼‍♀️
I am a thrift store queen! Is there anything better than repurposing something previously loved? I don’t think so!
I am currently unemployed and have no clue what direction my career will go in. In the mean time, I babysit, walk pets, and do other odds and ends jobs to make ends meet.
I look forward to this new adventure in Nashville with y’all. I hope you all will provide me with some tips on things you would like to see from me in the future.
